Traffic Advisories:

Weather and traffic volumes permitting, westbound Hatem Bridge traffic may be detoured from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning Thursday and Friday, March 4 and 5, and Sunday, March 7, through Tuesday, March 9. For additional information, click here.

Reminder:

Please be reminded that periodic demolition activities in conjunction with the Hatem Bridge Preservation Project may occur 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Local residents may experience heightened noise during this timeframe. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

The Hatem Bridge Preservation Project has begun and is expected to take about 3½ years to complete. This US 40 bridge over the Susquehanna River will remain open during the project, with one lane open in each direction except during scheduled times to allow for delivery of construction materials.

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) will maintain this website throughout the duration of the preservation project to provide current and pertinent information as the construction progresses.

If you currently have a valid AVI decal, you can now renew it for free. Upon completion of construction, the yearly fee of $10 for the AVI decals will be reinstated.
