The Hatem Bridge serves as a gateway to both Harford and Cecil Counties carrying 11 million vehicles every year. The Hatem Bridge Preservation Project is being undertaken by MDTA to maintain the integrity and extend the life of this important Susquehanna River crossing. Prior to the start of the project, pothole and concrete repairs were a weekly occurrence on the Hatem Bridge. The Hatem Bridge Preservation Project will replace the entire concrete roadway (deck) and include the installation of a new, permanent jersey barrier in the center of the bridge.
